Event Description:
Have you ever wanted to experience your first wild camp, but not had the confidence to do so ?
Our safe and secure woodland site is just the place for you to try this for the first time. We can help and guide you from building your own shelter to sleeping, using a hammock and tarp for the first time or bring tour own tent to experience your first adventure with our qualified leaders.
We will teach you all the basic skills and build up your knowledge to help you on your way.
What will be included in your introductory session:
- Camp craft set ups and different shelter designs
- Kit and equipment to carry
- Safe tool use and legal requirements for carrying these in the outdoors
- Fire skills and stove use
- Outdoor cooking, and foods to eat
- Basic first aid skills
- Water sourcing and purification
- Leave no trace rules, the country code and land access
This will be an over night experience and you will sleep within our woodland in your chosen shelter for the evening. Preparing and cooking your own food either on an open fire or using a cooking method of your choice to practise your skills.
The session will start at 4pm working into the evening learning all of the skills you need to get you started and keep you safe on your next adventure. We have available a limited selection of tarps and hammocks, please let us know when booking if you would like to reserve one.
Children are welcome on this event as long as they are accompanied by a paying parent or guardian.
