Founded in 2017 by Graeme and Steph White, F.E.R.N Outdoor Adventures is a family-run business delivering outdoor education, forest school sessions, and adventure activities across County Durham, the North East, and beyond.
Our mission is simple: expanding minds and creating lasting memories through outdoor learning and nature-based adventures.
Graeme is a Level 3 Forest School Leader with over 25 years’ experience in outdoor education and mountain rescue. He holds multiple outdoor qualifications including Mountain Leader, British Cycling MTB Leader, Canoe & Kayak Coach, and High Ropes Instructor.
With a strong background in youth work and education, Graeme delivers safe, inclusive, and inspiring outdoor adventures across the North East.
Steph manages the day-to-day operations of F.E.R.N Outdoor Adventures, handling enquiries, bookings, and business development. Passionate about family life outdoors, she enjoys cycling, woodland exploration, and horse riding.
Steph is also becoming more hands-on with Forest School delivery, bringing warmth and enthusiasm to every session.
