Introduction to Mountain Skills day

Have you seen all of those amazing pictures on social media of people exploring in the mountains and thought wow, I would love to do that but don’t have the confidence or skills ?

Well we can help you with this, we are running an introduction to mountain skills day. Our very experienced mountain leader Graeme will guide you though your day looking at various aspects of getting you into the great outdoors. The day will be focused around your needs but we will cover :

• Navigation skills – setting a map, taking a bearing, pacing and learning about features, using a GPS as back up
• Kit and equipment
• Country code and rights of way
• Emergency procedures and what to do

The day can be ran locally in Teesdale or Weardale or further afield in the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales or Northumberland. The day is aimed at anyone over the age of 18 but we do welcome anyone younger providing they are accompanied by a parent or guardian for the full day.
