Learn Outdoor Navigation

£35.00

Have you ever wanted to explore beyond your local paths and parks but felt unsure about venturing out alone? Our Navigation Skills sessions give you the confidence and practical skills to get outdoors safely.

Led by Graeme, a seasoned outdoor professional with over 26 years of Mountain Rescue experience and a Summer Mountain Leader Award, these sessions focus on learning on the ground rather than in a classroom. You’ll head out to scenic locations in Teesdale or Weardale to put your skills into practice immediately.

What to Expect

During the session, you’ll learn how to:

  • Orientate a map and set a compass

  • Pace accurately and walk on a bearing

  • Understand and implement emergency procedures

  • Use a GPS as a backup

These skills will not only boost your confidence but also make your outdoor adventures safer and more enjoyable.
